![]() ![]() No doubt, the views from Koi are breathtaking. ![]() The room was minimal, yet beautifully designed and most important, it was CLEAN! I really enjoyed waking up in the morning in the comfortable, king-sized bed to watch the sun rise over the water. We had an amazing ocean-view that you could nearly see from the bathroom. Yet another downfall in booking staying at this property. There were broken steps to the beach that were roped off with cautioned tape, so you can't even walk the beach from the resort. Unfortunately, I didn't do my due diligence prior to booking with Koi Resort, so that's on me. It was small and not really the most inviting. For most of our trip, the time we spent at the resort was inside of our room. We actually dined at restaurants off of the resort where we enjoyed full-course meals and drinks for the same amount if not less than the breakfast we paid for at Koi. The items were good, but were they worth that price.I would have to say they were not. But even a simple breakfast for two was nearly 80 dollars. Everything tasted AMAZING, but the prices were astronomical! After that first meal, we decided to only purchase breakfast at the hotel and to venture off of the resort for the rest of our meals. We ordered a few drinks, two appetites and my husband had a bowl of soup. We arrived prior to check-in, so we briefly walked around the small hotel and then at the bar inside of the Jaya restaurant. The entrance of the hotel is gorgeous and all of the staff we encountered from check-in to check-out provided amazing service! The check-in process was seamless and the two rum punches and shot of rum were a nice added touch. Luckily, the local taxi drivers do not attempt to rake us over the coals and the ride to the hotel only cost 15 bucks for us both. You would think they would pull of all of the stops to make up for that fact. The hotel does not offer shuttle service, which is unfortunate, especially since the resort is not all-inclusive. Koi Resort is located less than 20 minutes away from the airport. But there are definitely some changes the hotel could be amazing. Our trip to the island was AMAZING and, overall my stay at Koi Resort was pretty good. I had enough points to purchase one ticket to the island for free, so I quickly decided this would be a next travel destination. Kitts for our second wedding anniversary. Origins, history, and similarities to other festivities In 2008, the tradition was inscribed in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. The celebration is not solely focused on the dead, as it is also common to give gifts to friends such as candy sugar skulls, to share traditional pan de muerto with family and friends, and to write light-hearted and often irreverent verses in the form of mock epitaphs dedicated to living friends and acquaintances, a literary form known as calaveras literarias. Traditions connected with the holiday include honoring the deceased using calaveras and marigold flowers known as cempazúchitl, building home altars called ofrendas with the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these items as gifts for the deceased. These celebrations can take a humorous tone, as celebrants remember funny events and anecdotes about the departed. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have died. Although related to the simultaneous Christian remembrances for Hallowtide, it has a much less solemn tone and is portrayed as a holiday of joyful celebration rather than mourning. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to let me know! □ ![]() I hope you've managed to follow along and that you've succeeded in setting up your debugging environment. I find that for these cases, it is still a good tool to have around. ConclusionĪs I've mentioned, the setup process isn't too complicated, but still, in my initial research, I couldn't find a clean and simple step-by-step guide on how to do it properly.ĭespite the fact that, when it comes to running JavaScript code, these days I'm more interested in serverless technologies (like AWS Lambda), I still sometimes like to use the good old Express for creating small prototypes or proof of concepts. If you've done everything correctly, your code execution should pause at the first breakpoint and you should see all of the variables and their values in the Debug Tool Window:Īnd that's it! Use F7 (Step Into), F8 (Step Over), and F9 (Run to next breakpoint) keys to quickly navigate over your code and find what you're looking for faster. Now, try to issue an HTTP request to your Express app. You do that by clicking right by the line number, after which you should see a red dot, indicating that a breakpoint has been set. Don't forget to do that because this is what actually makes the Webstorm IDE's debugging client / Node.js connection.Īlright, now it's just a matter of placing breakpoints in the code and that's it! Try It Out ![]() Make sure that, when filling in the Port field, you use the one on which the Node.js process is listening for the debugger client, in our case 9001.Īlso, note that once you've created the Run/Debug configuration, you click on the green "bug" icon. More specifically, a new Attach to Node.js/Chrome configuration. Now, on the WebStorm side, we need to add a new Run/Debug configuration. Notice the message Debugger listening on ws://127.0.0.1:9001/. Now, if you were to run the above command, you should receive the following output: The following is the code that makes this possible: const express = require("express") Ĭonsole.log(chalk.cyan(`□ App running on port $.`)) Note that the -port=9000 argument is handled in my application code, and it's here because you usually want to give developers the ability to change the port on which the application will be running on their local machine. The port 9000 will be used by my Express app. So, 9001 is the port on which the Node.js process will listen for the debugging client (in my case - Webstorm IDE's client). In the following command, I'm using port 9001: nodemon scripts/app.js -port=9000 -inspect=9001 Note that you don't have to use the default 9229 port. Each process is also assigned a unique UUID". By default, it will listen at host and port 127.0.0.1:9229. If you were wondering what exactly it does, there is a good and short explanation over at the official docs: "When started with the -inspect switch, a Node.js process listens for a debugging client. The first step is to start your Node.js server, but with the special -inspect switch. So, in this short article, we'll see how to set this up in just two simple steps.
